Purpose:
This worksheet invites you to reflect on who we are as a church, who God is calling us to become, and what commitments shape our shared life. Your responses will help guide our upcoming congregational conversation.

1. Mission & Calling Reflection

Current Mission & Calling:
New Spirit UCC is a progressive Christian community committed to living Jesus’ commandment, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” We welcome and affirm all peoples. Our calling is to serve our local and world community with a joyous and generous spirit, and to be a refuge for all seeking comfort, inspiration, and challenge through the Spirit of Jesus Christ.

2. Vision Discernment – Our Future Direction

A vision describes what we hope New Spirit will become in the next 3–5 years if we fully live our mission and calling.

3. Guiding Commitments (Values)

Guiding Commitments are the 3–5 single-word principles that express the heart of our community and shape how we live our faith.

Example:
Welcome – Creating a space where every person feels seen, valued, and embraced without condition.
